Brutal Attack on Students in Dinabandhu Andrews and Gurudas College
The Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) workers with the goons deployed from outside of the college have raged a brutal attack on the SFI activists in Dinabandhu Andrews College and Gurudas College to prevent the SFI activists from collecting the nomination papers. At least 30 students including 20 girl students have been seriously injured in that gruesome joint attack by TMC and TMCP.

The post-poll West Bengal in new situation and new scenario is witnessing the new political dimension qualitatively. Democratically elected student's unions are the prime targets now. Ransacking union rooms, armed intrusion in college campuses, defaming legends by defacing their portrait are the most common gifts of Change. This state sponsored "Back to the Apes" type activities are incorporated with forceful debarring of students from appearing examinations sponsored by some college administrations even.

Attack on Democratic Rights in West Bengal
Friends who have been following developments in West Bengal will be familiar with the targeting and attacks on activists, workers and supporters of the Left parties particularly the CPI(M) in the run-up to the Assembly elections. 388 men and women, most of them belonging to the poorer and socially oppressed sections were brutally killed by the TMC-Maoists combine and in some places by the Congress, since the Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Houses were burnt and hundreds displaced, their crime being that they refused to put down the red flag that they held in their hands.
